The orthopedic surgeon I work for was
moving to a new office, and his staff
was helping transport many of the items.
I sat the display skeleton in
the front of my car, his bony arm across
the back of my seat. I hadn't considered
the drive across town. At one traffic
light, the stares of the people in the
car beside me became obvious, and I
looked across and explained, "I'm
delivering him to my doctor's office."
The other driver leaned out of
his window. "I hate to tell you, lady,"
he said, "but I think it's too late!"
A few years ago, I decided to visit my brother who was stationed in Germany. I assumed that most Germans would speak English. But I found that many people spoke only their native tongue - including [...]

Dispatcher: 9-1-1 What is the nature of
your emergency?
Caller: I'm trying to reach nine eleven
but my phone doesn't have an eleven on
it.
Dispatcher: This is nine eleven.
Caller: I though you just said it was
nine-one-one.
Dispatcher: Yes, ma'am nine-one-one and
nine-eleven are the same thing.
Caller: Honey, I may be old, but I'm not
stupid.

When I went to lunch today, I noticed an
old lady near a park bench sobbing her
eyes out. I stopped and asked her what
was wrong.
She said: "I have a 22 year old husband
at home. He makes love to me every
morning and then gets up and makes me
pancakes, sausage, fresh fruit and
freshly ground coffee."
I said: "Well, then why are you crying?"
She said: "He makes me homemade soup for
lunch and my

Manning the computer help desk for the
local school district was my first job.
And though I was just an intern, I took
the job very seriously. But not every
caller took me seriously.
- Can I talk to a real person? a caller
asked.
- I am real, I said.
- Oh, I'm sorry, the caller said. That
was rude of me. What I meant to say was,
could I talk to someone who actually
knows something?

Woman's revenge...
- Cash, check or charge? I asked, after
folding items the woman wished to
purchase.
As she fumbled for her wallet, I noticed
a remote control for a television set in
her purse.
- So, do you always carry your TV
remote? I asked.
- No, she replied, but my husband
refused to come shopping with me, and I
figured this was the most evil thing I
could do to him legally.

My grandmother is a computer geek. She
also has trouble remembering quickly

what she wanted to tell us.
Mom explained, "Your grandma is trying
to retrieve the information, but it is
taking awhile. Evidently she hasn't
defragmented her hard drive lately."

Sally replied, "But I've got some good

"OK, darling," said Bill, "but as I've

good news."
"OK," agreed Sally. "Well, the air bag

The man says, "No, sir. I did that once,

I called the fire department.
